CPU Coolore: CORSAIR HYDRO Series H115i PRO - $135
Motherboard: ASUS TUF X299 Mark 1 LGA2066 - $330
RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz - $300
SSD: Samsung 970 PRO 512GB - NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 SSD (MZ-V7P512BW) - $170
SSD: Crucial MX500 500GB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD - $70

Total is $2095. If you want to go under $2000 budget, replace the motherboard with this one: ASUS TUF X299 Mark 2 LGA2066 - $240.

Or, if you have extra budget, you can add 32gb of RAM (for a total of 64 Gb) of the same brand specified above. - $300.

This is the same configuration but with AMD Ryzen :

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X - $879 CPU
Coolore: CORSAIR HYDRO Series H115i PRO - $135
Motherboard: ASUS ROG ZENITH EXTREME - $550
RAM: G.Skill F4-3200C14D-16GFX (32Gb) - $400
SSD: Samsung 970 PRO 512GB - NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 SSD (MZ-V7P512BW) - $170
SSD: Crucial MX500 500GB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD - $70
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G1+, 80 Plus Gold 650W, Fully Modular - $90

Total $2294. With 64gb of RAM: total $2694.
It's way more expensive and I do not recommend it due to stability issues Ryzen is known to have (even with bioses).

RAMDISK

H!

Has any of you tried to use a ramdisk? Some say it greatly improves speed (what we need).

Anyy views on this?

Thank you!

ramdisk is meant to speed up your HD? During strategy generation and also testing my SSD load is actually very low, the CPU is doing all the work...

The most import part for me is the energy consumption.

If my server runs 7/24, it is very importend that the pc dont need so much energy.

A good pc hardware is the AMD Ryzen 7, 2700

This processor have only TDP of 65W

The benchmark in SQ 4.119 says 42361 Strategies per hour.

I bought a 64 GB system  https://www   .pclike.de/de/W-AMD-Ryzen-7-2700-64.html

You don´t need so much memory with 4.119, but it is more for the future. The system cost less than 1000 Euro.

You can wait some months for the Ryzen 3700. This is a 7nm cpu. I think the power consumtion /efficienz will be better.
